Bí Cineálta – Promoting Kindness (Anti-bullying)

At St. Peter Apostle JNS, kindness is at the heart of our school community. As part of our Bí Cineálta (Anti-Bullying ) Policy, we work every day to promote  kindness, respect, inclusion and friendship. We encourage our children to use kind words, include others, help one another and speak up when something is not right. Through our classrooms, assemblies, play, friendships and everyday interactions, we teach our children that everyone has the right to feel safe, valued and included.

We believe that small acts of kindness can make a big difference, and we celebrate the many ways our children show care and respect for one another.

Together, we are building a school where everyone belongs and kindness matters.

Speak Up – It Is Always Okay to Tell

At St. Peter Apostle JNS, we teach our children that it is always okay to tell an adult when something is worrying, upsetting or making them feel unsafe.

As part of our Bí Cineálta approach, we encourage children to speak up and to know that there is always a trusted adult who will listen and help. We teach children that it is both ok and important to tell when someone is being hurt, excluded, treated unfairly or when something does not feel right.

We encourage our children to:

• Tell an adult if someone is being hurt or bullied.

• Tell if something is making them feel worried or unsafe.

• Tell if they see someone else being treated unkindly.

• ​

Our message to every child is simple:

If something is worrying you, tell someone.
If you see something that isn't right, tell someone.
There will always be someone here to listen and help.
